I've always thought that Lady Bracknell should be played by a man in drag. Women can try, but only a man playing up the whole thing can really properly give the line "A HANDBAG?" with the right amount of overacting. I've always felt that the best woman in a case like this is a man. A big fat man, ready to queen it up quite a bit.
